Hiya, just wanted to ask if there was one type of kiln that would allow be to anneal beads and fuse glass as well as being hot enough for silver and PMC too?

Would the Paragon sc2 with bead and glass door be enough?

I saw one on ebay that would probably do for bead annealing but the max. temp was 800c and I haven't heard of this type of kiln before (not that I'm a kiln expert you understand, lol)

It's a TSM-11 Kiln new not used

Many thanks

I dont know everything about the kiln, i only use it for Lampworking. But i know you can use it for art clay. There are some issues with fusing glass, i think its something to do with hotspots.

Have a look on the pargon website which give you an idea of what its good for.

I am sure there is a kiln out there that will do everything-I'm sure someone will let you know soon.

you can fuse glass in an SC-2 but if you hhave a bead door you have to be careful of noot putting anything too near the front or it won't fuse properly.

I use mine for annealling beads and fusning, not used it for silver clay yet though but i know it can be done

Thank you for your replies Heart

I think I'll give the kiln on eBay a miss as although it's a lot less expensive, I think I'll only end up having to buy another one in the end.

Oh well, unless anyone knows where I would be able to buy a second hand SC2 it's back to the penny jar!

Thanks again.

I have a Paragon Caldera. It's a "stacking" kilns, so I use it with a bead collar for lampwork, and if I want to fuse/work with PMC/ceramic I remove that segment.
