was wondering if you could all point me in the right, if not cheap, direction??
he is 14, and this morning he saw the lampwork i received via a swap and was in awe. he now wants to try himself. but i don't want to shell out a fortune and him not enjoy/like it.
any info you can give me would be great. i have had a quick look on this part of the forum today, but must be a bit thick lol cause couldn't seem to find what i needed to know lol

Hiya

this is the cheapest kit i can find that has safety glasses included

it has everything except a can of mapp gas to get him going, other equipment will be needed over time like a kiln etc etc

there is cheaper kits but they don't have the glasses in them and they are needed, there is a next kit up from this which is the one i got and i can recomend it.

I can also recomend the following books as welll

Making Glass Beads by Cindy Jenkins

The Complete Book of Glass Beadmaking by Kimberley Adams

Yes, course I'm serious.

I don't have a lot of room in my "studio" but he can look over my shoulder then we can look over his shoulder!

You could have a go too Very Happy
