Silver sheet ANNEALING??

Ok ive decided to buy some silver sheet and disc cutters to stamp designs on Mr. Green now it says to anneal first before cutting........WHAAA? Embarassed
anyone help?
ive never EVER used sheet before.

Annealing is heating the metal up to soften it, I use a cooks type torch to do small pieces. I makes it easier to manipulate. Saying that, I don't anneal before I use my disc cutter but I do before stamping/texturing.

Somebody else with more experience may be able to tell you more.
