I have just used a piece of seaglass which is red, and opaque and looks fab.
What about hyacinth blue or a dark grey, which can then be mixed with either black or haematite?

How about purple with turquoise/teal and a deep yellow. I think that inspiration has come from Christopher Lloyds garden rather than my favourite colours.

Good for you setting yourself, and us, this challenge. Hope it brings back your mojo.
