Thanks Lorraine! And thanks for the kind words Cherie - I understand what you're saying about the costs! Rainbow

Those are fantastic beads Mel! I am loving those twisty ones, they remind me of dichroic glass beads. Yummy!

As for why stuff costs more in the UK - its just a typical economics thing. It costs more to live here, to run a business here and so on. Then you have the costs of importing stock. Plus smaller businesses cannot afford to get stock in bulk like the chain stores in the US do.

I think most of us are limping along trying to bring you guys great products at the very best price we can. It is the same old story of the small high street shops versus the large companies isn't it.

In a few years, you probably won't have any choice BUT to buy from abroad if UK businesses keep getting squeezed from every angle as they are right now. Because it isn't like they are being greedy - I don't know one small business who wouldn't jump at the chance of bringing products to their customers for less. They just can't afford to.

Emma

Thanks Emma - I understand why things cost more from UK suppliers - and I only buy abroad when I can justify the import and postage. I think there is a good range available but it is a shame it is so difficult for small independants to compete with the bigger chains.

Yup it is tough to be any type of small independant business these days I think. But it's the way of the world really isnt it.

I have a theory that by 2020 each and every single one of us will be working for Tescos at the rate we are going.

Sorry for calling you Mel by the way - brain not fitted in correctly this morning Brick wall
