Hi Everyone;

I ran this past Lucy before I posted it here, but just wanted to let you all know that next Monday (August 11th) my Awareness Ribbon project will be on Beading Daily and any money raised via sales throughout August and September will be donated to charity.

They will also be running a competition from August 11th until September 12th, to win one of two pins I made and donated. Pink Ribbon with a 9ct gold stick pin and Teal Ribbon with a sterling silver stick pin.

I have posted about it on my blog today, so there's a few more details there (and some pics) if you want to nip over and have a look

I thought I'd post about it before it starts, so that if anyone who has a blog wants to mention it, to help me spread the word, it would give them time to do that - no pressure to do that though. From next Monday we should have links to the exact page etc.

I hope it turns out to be a lot of fun and if anyone has any queries - just give me a yell!

Oh and I'll keep you posted about any developments.

Yeah, great stuff, Kerrie. I am itching to get my hands on the pattern to get some of these done. I know how much work you've put into this and fingers crossed that it raises lots of money for the chosen charity.

Thanks Alison, yes it has been a bit of a hard slog at times, but I hope it will help to raise funds for a broad range of charities

Thank you everyone Thanks so much for blogging about it Caroline and Lorraine - I think that will really help.

If anyone has any other way of advertising this and wouldn't mind, that would be fantastic too. All details are on my blog - including a pic. of my lovely Mum who was the inspiration for all this I'm sure we all know someone close to home who has been affected by cancer.

if you want to wait until Monday when it goes 'live' that's fine as I might have a link direct to the page and the competition entry form by that date.

I do hope lots of you make and sell these pins and raise money for whatever charity is closest to your heart - and it would be great to get lots of competition entries too.

I don't have a blog but I sure do know lots of people who are beaders so I've sent out an email with the link to your blog. Some are already Beading Daily members but this might get some pthers moving. I've also offered to buy the pattern and make some pins if someone in that group can think of a way to advertise and promote the idea. One of the girls is with our local hospital foundation so she's good at fundraisers. I'll let you know how that goes.

I also just remembered I have the email addresses for the store owners of BeadFX and That Bead Lady, which are two very successful, large bead stores in southern Ontario. I have send them links as well.

Congratulations for taking this project on - I'm thinking you will be amazed at the results and how far around the world this will go.
