Confused Confused Confused My head hurts.....

Yesterday I bought some fab ring from the Beadsisters stall at Beads up north. Last night I started work and finished, in about 2 hours flat, my byzantine weave bracelet using violet and pink rings!!! So chuffed.

Well, today I thought I'd start work on some of my other stuff. So...I cracked open my STERLING SILVER (I nearly fainted a the price!!) rings I had purchased to make the Hana Gursai (sp!?) anklet from the Whyte book.

I have on triangle...out of 7 and my head really hurts. I can't do it the way they show me in the book as the trailing it round makes no sense to me but I have come up with another way.

I am going to make the first line of 1 in 1 - 6 links (3 big, 3 little!) and then pin it to my cork board. I am then going to work downward to make each little triangle. If you get what I mean.

Does anyone else do it like this?!!

Also...the earrings from Issue 10 of BEAD from Bead sisters - are they 4 in 1? Can I just use the same principle? I tried to make a start on those today and couldn't make head nor tail of the instructions in BEAD.

I don't get on well with these weaves I don't think......but I will keep going as I am proud of my 1 triangle!!! Laughing

Hi I am new to Chain Maille weaves and also find following diagrams on new weaves tricky. I cannot do full persian. I have finially learnt half persian but it took me at least a full week of trying. I have watched video and have 3 different tutorial print outs for the full persian but still cant get it. I also have bought rings from beadsisters the coloured aluminium rings are soo funky, my son has pinched the two bracelets I made with them and has asked for more. I bought a kit from maille queen in silver and gold fill. Yes it is expensive but the difference in how it feels is amazing. I would like to make more bracelets with silver and gold but as you say very expensive. As I make to sell I am still seeing if it would be worth the expense before commiting. I plan to make some for christmas pressies though.
