Hi,

If you have a tiscali email address in your profile please can I ask you to change it to a different email address.

The reason for this is that I have identified a problem within the forum relating to tiscali email addresses.

If you have your account set up to send you email reminders on threads you are watching for replies and/or new PM's in your inbox the email notifications will not get to you.

Unfourtunately I will get an email in my inbox to tell me the message couldn't be delivered, and sadly that is causing a problem as I can end up with over 100 of these emails in a week.

At present there is no known fix for this problem, hopefully one will be found and if so I will let you know right away.

In the mean time I'm afraid that from now on if I receive one of these fail to deliver emails I will have to log in and set your account not to receive reminder emails. I will try to email you to ask you to change the email address you have registered, so you know what the problem is but as I'm sure you can appreciate with the number of members we have I might not be able to do that right away.

So please if you have a tiscali email address on profile, remove it for me.

I wondered why I wasn'r receiving reminders - I'd just assumed that my firewall was being over zealous. I'll check the pink hilight icons on the forum instead. What a pain in the ....... Daisy

ps Profile seems to require an email address. If I simply delete that info will I cease to exist on the forum? If so I will set up an email a/c just for this forum - I can't face the prospect of notifying everyone in my address book of a change of email ROTFL

I've had to create a new profile as I couldn't remember my password and there was no way to get one sent to me! So DevonGlassLass is no more Crying

You can always email me with problems like this so I can sort them out for you!

PM me your new/current email address, and I'll reset your account for you so you don't have to use a new one. Very Happy

You have to have an email address saved in your profile. It won't save/update without one.

There is no way for any account to be deleted except for me to delete it.

If you set up a new email address for getting reminders on the forum you need not use it for anything else. Many (free) email addresses will actually let you forward emails from another account directly to them for example I have a virgin email account that I never use but it is set up (for my security) that if anything does get in my inbox it will be forwarded to my gmail account so I can check it out.

In regards to not getting email reminders I did pop up a couple of posts a while ago (I didn't know what the exact problem was back then)

This is really weird, but I received a topic notification on my old (forgot my password for DevonGlassLass) username in my tiscali account. I've posted a few things now (I'm young again!) as HedgelandsGlassGems so we will see if I continue to get any DevonGlassLass stuff.
