This year I have been mostly learning kumihimo!

actually I think the far left is a braid- not kumihimo

Yes well you know I am a mad old bag... well here is mine I made: from old curtains..but shall we call it vintage fabric?? the button is about 4 inches wide- just for scale!- and the fastening/buttonhole thing is a kumihimo braid- the bag is rectangular- just stuffed full of my junk!

Well Cathy, I don't really know what kumiwhatsit is, but I know a nice old bag when I see one - and that is definitely a nice old bag!

Wow - I recognise those curtains.

We used to have the same fabric in our kitchen when I was a child, although ours were slightly redder.

Rainbow Rainbow Rainbow

All the best

lmao- well ditto- i expect ours was slightly redder in the dark ages when it was hung up at the window- my mum sent me this mad old bunch of ace vintage fabric! ...the orange is no where near the brightest!! Daisy

ps kumihimo is a seriously addictive japanese braiding technique!

I'm mad on Kumihimo too. Do you use a Maradai or a handheld wheel? I use beads a lot with my Maradai. Here's some pics

Hi Jen- fab work!
I use a handheld at the moment- i wanted to see if I could do it before buying in big time..I started making a cardboard one! then have bought a little foam handheld- i might try a a home made one- not sure if the price I would have to charge for pieces would justify making them though!
I love yours I have just been given a beading kumihimo book and have tried- only some are possible with the handheld. Jacqui Carey is my hero!

Mine too! I got my equipment from her, great quality. I've taken 3 workshops with her too, she's a wonderful teacher. Daisy
