Hi I received an email recently and thought I'd check with the people who'd know before replying.

Dear Sir/Madam

I was wondering whether you might be able to help me out with a query about glass rings.

I recently received as a gift a glass ring with Murano style silver material embedded in it. Unfortunately the ring is too big. Do you know if it is possible to resize glass rings? And if so, who I should approach to have this done?

Many thanks.

Now I thought it was very unlikely that it could be re-sized, but please tell me if I'm wrong.

I did wonder if wire wrapping the band would make it a little smaller, as I know you can buy plastic tubing to put on rings to make them smaller but it doesn't look great and I doubt it would fit on a glass ring!

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Thank you

Shocked

Presumably this would be like changing a bead, once its been made. Short of melting it down and starting again, I don't see how ....

I don't know

I wonder whether it could be silver cored - that would make it smaller. Other than that - perhaps they could just wear it on a chain instead Rainbow

How about putting a pile of sellotape inside? I'm sort of joking, or maybe not Very Happy

Could the bead be wire-wrapped and embellished to reduce the size slightly?

Yep, everyone is right, if it were to go near a flame it would more than likely explode so reducing the size that way is out.

The only thing I can think of, that would still enhance the beauty is either wire wrapping or perhaps silver clay, it would fill the hole somewhat so that it fit?
