Oh Poll I wish you'd been there, I'm dying to meet you Hug It was a fab day - the barrel weave looks very easy, and it is...once you've 'got it'....until then you hear a lot of muttering and cursing Wink Lynne had some beautiful stone chips and it was soooo hard to choose, but in the end both Claire and I chose the tourmaline, although with different seed beads. That took care of the afternoon, as we were all very quietly concentrating. I had a lovely lady sat next to me who had never seed-beaded in her life and she cursed a bit but soon got it. I finished my necklace off when I got home last night and I'm thrilled with it. I bought some beautiful labradorite chips and silver rings to do another (so did Claire, we both have excellent taste ROTFL ) Oh and Claire brought some of her lampies for me to anneal and they are fantastic! We met some lovely people, which reminds me Lynne, when you see Lorraine next week will you give her the forum details please as we forgot to! Go on the next one Pollie, you'll absolutely love it Daisy

Sorry you missed it Pollie but as soon as you're feeling better get yourself over to Lynne's.
I agree with Claire and Denise, it was a great day and the Lady G necklace design is divine. No matter what beads people chose it looks great. I've still got mine to finish but I loved doing it. I loved the chain weave we used and I've got my bag of silver rings to play with as well as the Celtic Mandala earrings kit.
I can see how chain maille becomes addictive - Chris and Suzy made two bracelets that were stunning and to see Lynnes' work on display is really inspiring. I'm delighted to have progressed from shaggy loops if nothing else and look forward to future courses (credit crunch permitting)

You were missed Pollie, I wish you could have joined us.

I had a wonderful day with a fabulous group.

I’m so pleased that you enjoyed yourselves. Thank you so much for your lovely comments, I’m blushing and smiling with a huge grin on my face!

I’ll give Lorraine all the details Denise. I spoke to her this morning, and she got back to London safely.

Claire’s lampwork beads are fantastic, and so are Denise’s. I can’t believe that they have both been torching for such a short time!
