Got these two books today!
Bead on a wire by Sharilyn Miller.
Good colour book, with lots of step by step projects. Im new to beads (usually do chainmaille etc) This is great book for newbies and is full colour with lots of step by step photos. Very easy to follow.
Bangles in the style of connie fox, and shows you how to make your own catches, ear wires and other findings. Also lots of complete projects(bangles, necklaces, earings).
Good book and easy to follow.
Making wire Jewellery by Helen Clegg and Mary Larom
60 easy projects such as egyptian wire coil necklace, earings bracelet. Other wire techniques triangle, spiral shapes.
But was slightly dissapointed as book is mostly black and white writing. Only very small sketch of step by step bits. (I prefer colour photo's and as studied design I think it could be better)
Only colour, is group picture of the projects completed! This is mid way through the book and a colour picture at the start of each project would be better.
Good ideas, but feel the pictures let it down a bit. Although plenty of projects to keep you busy.
Decent book, but I am not impressed with presentation of it. Eg bead on wire looks more professional and colour photos with description is easier to follow. Ive got quite a few jewellery making books and so have compared it with others.
* But if your not bothered and can follow instruction without photographs this book is good.
