If they're Swarovski, you should be able to match them up with any supplier who stocks them.

You can try

Oooh, fab site, thanks for posting this Very Happy Going to have a good mooch around now.

I taught myself spiral stitch last month and I think I'd like to do this one (Russian spiral weave) now. It looks wonderful. (Having said that, I have a long list of stitches I want to learn. Is it good to do this - mix and match - or should I make sure I'm expert on one stitch first. I found spiral quite easy to do, so I'm happy that I now know it well enough (after one necklace!) Well, I guess I know it well enough to do it after referring to instructions just to start off - okay once I get going I think.

Back to the Russian spiral weave and a question to you experts. Would I be able to substitute size 11 seed beads for the small beads and 'chips' for the larger beads in the instructions? I have an idea in my head that I was going to do with the ordinary spiral, but now I've seen this I think I'll take the opportunity to learn a new variation.

Although, I can always 'force' myself to buy new beads if you all don't think that this would work okay. (Man, I could just buy the new beads anyway, who needs an excuse Very Happy)

russian spiralis great you can put most things in BUT when there is a big difference in the size you may need to adjust the number of small beads as too few pulls the spiral out of line and you need to watch you tension carefully or u have a visible spiral of thread having said all that it grows really quickly and looks great--good luck let us see what u make Very Happy

Thanks Pollie,

In that case, would it be possible to use all the same sized beads? Or is it best to use the differing sizes for best effect.

I will give it a go, prob at the weekend now. May post my efforts, although it will look VERY amateurish compared to the lovely pieces I've seen on here!

hi sure you can use all the same size beads it makes it soft and slinky but you do need a different colour to act as your big bead if that makes sense otherwisewhen you are looking for " the little bead after the big bead " its too easy to miss it-i posted further back on this thread and when i couldnt match the crystals i used the same size an colour bead in the gloss finish and it looks v good my favourite is the one i did in gold shiny and frosted-- this is only my thoughts you know i expect more exprt beaders can manage with one colour i lose count too easily--have fun-- Thumbs up

Thanks again Pollie,

I think I may have a go with same sized beads and two different colors.
