My home town is Ipoh, which is in Perak, Malaysia and it is stuffed to the gills with talented beaders..wish I could have bought more examples of their work to share with you guys, only 2 pics of beautiful local work which got my mouth watering this time, I'll update this as and when I find more
Made by the local beadshop girl...this is so cute and I love that the necklace portion is plaited?!!

Mancini necklace
IMO is an amazing example of stringing + some beading, its so imaginative. Made by local Ipoh artist!

The second necklace is pretty amazing, as far as I can tell it is made from:
Smoky quartz rondelles
Aventurine assorted rounds, ovals, hearts, butterfly, mini donut
Jade nuggets
Assorted facet rounds in clear quartz, onyx, smoky quartz, rose quartz
Peanut shape rose quartz
Fresh water white pearls (assorted sizes)
Garnet tiny round beads
Black glass circles
Seed beads in clear/black
Nylon, heavy duty beadalon and a few crimps

Wow...I love the second one
The combination of all the different beads is just gorgeous.

They're both beautiful...love the turquoise colour of the first one, but I have to say my favourite is the second one - I love how there's such a mixture of different bead shapes yet everything seems to fit so well together. |

Those are great examples of beadwork. I have been to Malaysia several times and love it! The shell I used in my beaded shell necklace came from Malaysia, and I have nearly finished the beaded shell necklace mark 2, with another Malaysian shell.
