hi all
I am really enjoying lampworking, but I only seem to be able to create the same shapes, i.e a bit rounded and rolled on my marver. How would I go about making square shapes or lentils, do I need presses to do these different shapes??? Thanks for our help
Tammy.

for lentils etc i think you would need a press but you can make tubes and bi-cones with your marver and some practice, if you've got any lampworking books have a look in them and see if there's a tutorial on making different shapes

Use the tweezers I sent you to tweak bits proud of the bead and try some organics
Or use the paddle tweezers and make a round bead, put four or five blobs of glass aroundthe outside and squeeze each one with the paddle tweezers to make petals......voila flower

make two round beads, roll it out....longer barrel.
Make a long barrel and wind a round of glass at one end, roll on your marver at an angle and you have a cone bead.
You can make a bicone by making a barrel and wrapping a loop around the middle.
A lot of it is gravity and marver shaping. For lentils you will need a press, for a rudimentary press try a tea spoon!! Or sugar tongs
Or squeeze the center with a pair of pliers and flame-polish the chill marks - nice shape!
I agree with Tanok: (Again - You rock!) Gravity is our friend! And a constant - You can always count on it to head south just as you can count on glass to go to the heat source and then south
